Firstly I would like to thank Mac Forum members for all the help I have received over the years !!!

I have found a file called ssuddrv.kext on my MiniMac late 2012 running OS Catalina 10.15.7. I suspect it of preventing me from using AFT Android File Transfer to examine my Samsung mobile phone.

When I try to put this file in trash by holding command and the delete key, it resists and cannot be dragged into trash. A wheel appears with the tag "loading" and the file does not move. Dragging with the mouse into trash does not work either: it simply returns to its position.
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

PS. I forgot to add that this file duplicates itself when I try to eliminate it. I now have three of them! Sometimes, it can be dragged into trash but that is useless because of this duplication. Very frustrating!

Hi to all, sorry to have wastedyour time on this. I found the solution by restarting the Mac with the caps key pressed. I was then able to eliminate the horrid ssuddrv.kext and now AFT works fine! I'm leaving the post here in case it is of any use for someone else!

I'm glad you got that sorted out. Thanks for posting back with your solution. I'm not sure why the caps key worked. Perhaps others have some idea,

For those reading this thread in the future who need to remove a kext, keep the following in mind.

1. Always have a backup handy. Deleting some Apple-installed kexts may render your Mac unstable/unbootable. Removing third-party kexts may prevent specific software from working.
2. If you have tried to delete kexts using the Finder and that has failed, you probably need to boot into safe mode by rebooting your Mac and pressing Command S simultaneously. Continue holding these keys until the boot process is complete.
3. More recent versions of macOS have additional system protections in place, such as SIP. Make sure the directions you are using are correct for your macOS version.
4. You can use Terminal to delete kexts by following these directions. StackPath
