Spilled rubbing alcohol over my MacBook

Some five days ago I accidentally spilled rubbing alcohol over my MacBook. Most of it spilled over the bottom left corner of the keyboard, and it made its way through the keys into the computer. (I spilled about three or four tablespoons of alcohol.) Common sense told me to shut it down immediately and wait for the alcohol to dry. After about an hour or so I turned it back on and it was behaving erratically and slow: the keys weren't responding as they should, at times they behaved as if they were interchanged or where all on caps lock, etc., the mouse was also out of wack, and all movement on the screen was extremely slow. Since it was already late in the night I decided to (perhaps a bit irresponsably) leave the computer on till the morning expecting that the heat generated by it would speed up the evaporation of whatever alcohol was left; my plan was to take the computer to the Apple store for repair if it still didn't behave properly.

The next morning I woke up, and restarted the computer, and much to my amazement it worked just fine! In fact (I might be going crazy, but) it seems as if the computer works even better than before. It is as speedy as when I pulled it out of the box. Five days later it is still working like new, and I never took it to the store.

I'm wondering if:
1) I should expect the computer to go crazy in the future because of this? Is it possible that the alcohol did some yet unnoticed damage?
2) Is it possible that I'm not crazy and that the computer is in fact working even better?

I'd really like to hear what knowlegeable people have to say about this.

Rubbing alcohol evaporates quickly, so I suspect that once it evaporated your computer is as good as ever. If it's operating OK, it likely didn't harm your RAM or CPU and the HDD is on the other side of the box, so I'd say you're probably safe...

But just in case, cross your your fingers

BTW, If you're still in warranty, you might check the warranty terms and see what it says about liquid spills, then go from there on whether or not to contact Apple.

I don't believe it does cover liquid spills. And I think it's just imagination with your computer running even better. Maybe you just hadn't restarted in a long time so its now running a bit smoother? Who knows

your 100% right. apple doesnt cover accidental damage or spills. it your machine stopped working you would have been out of luck paying it out of your pocket.

Keep liquid, no matter what it is AWAY from your laptops. I just don't see how these things continue to happen.

and for anyone else who is reading this...

when you spill something on your computer, shut it down and pull out the battery immediately...
the worst thing you can do is turn it on (and leave it on) after the spill...

when this happens you should let your computer dry out for awhile (the longer the better) before you try to turn it on again.
