Spellcheck problems

Hi
I have two problems with my mac
First one is that the Firefox spellchecker is set on American English not British English.
The second problem is that I have added misspelled words my mistake
So does anyone know how to fix these problems?

Spell checking is system wide in OS X and not limited to Firefox. First, you need to open System Preferences, Language & Text, and move British English to the top of the list. That will set the system wide language.

Next, you need to edit the user spell check dictionary in OS X to remove those words that are incorrect. Follow these instructions as given by MacWorld Magazine. LINK

Something doesn't make sense here
I have downloaded and opened textwrangler
But the words I have added by mistake are not on a separate line I don't understand what it means.
e.g I have added becasue by mistake instead of because but that is not there
