Anyone know where I can get Spectralayers Pro 5 for Mac?

Several sites look promising including:

As well as several other suggested sites from here:

The developer site has version 6 to 8 available under the unsupported page:
But I didn't see any sign of version 5. You could always contact the developer and see if they can help you out.

I did ask 'Robin' and he no longer had the key to Spectralayers 5. So it's idown to one of the sites that have old programmes, or someone has it. 5 is much better than the ones that followed for the work I do. The ones that followed have more other useful parts, but lost the ease of 5.

I will take a look at your links now.

I presume you know longer have the application, license, or the installer and password in any sort of archive backup anywhere?

Maybe more searches or requests at various Mac places may produce something for you, I'm probably no chance of the developer adding the particular feature back in to a later version. But did you ask?

I find it's usually the MacOS updates that kill off some software or their features from working. For some reason they seem to call that progress, which doesn't make sense when things were working just fine for the user, thank you. :-(

Maybe try some wanted ads for the software at the various sites that deal with Old Mac software?

And maybe go through all the various sites and hits you can find with a search:

Or maybe ask the members here for suggestions of an alternative application that may have the feature you want to use and maybe even at a cheaper price.

I do have Spectralayers 5 on Windows. I never had it for Mac. I have just bought a 13" air for travel but not keen on using Parallels on the Macbook air, as it and Windows 11 would take up a lot of space on the hard drive. Unfortunately I may have to go that route if I can't get Spectralayers 5 for Mac.

As I mentioned previously, maybe try asking some of the members here if they know of any other application that can perform the function that you are missing from the Spectralayers 5 application you used to run.

A new alternative Mac-compatible application may involve a bit of a learning curve but it may be worth it in the end with fewer hassles Etc, and maybe even cheaper as well.

Just a constructive thought and suggestion... 😊

I understand your sentiment, but there is nothing to replace Spectralayers 5, it is unique in the way it worked, including the follow on versions (that I have). I know it is available on Mac as it was reviewed at the time on YT.

Just as an FYI, there was a post here recently about VMWare Fusion Pro 13 is now free. And you can get (download) and use winOS 11 ARM for free (without personalization features). I have it and VMWare downloaded winOS 11 and installed it onto a 64GB portion of an external drive for me (you can change those settings during setup). At setup, the vm only takes up 22GB of space.

That sounds very good. I installed Parallels one time purchase, and a cheap Windows 11 on my M1 Macbook Pro Max and it works great. Spectralayers Pro 5 does jump a bit when playing back, but the main editing features work just fine.

Is VMWare Fusion Pro 13 as easy as Parallels to install?
