Some Apps won't sit on dock

Hi all,

I've found that one of my apps that I purchased online will not sit on the dock. I'm not saying that it won't stay there, or that it disappears after I close it. i mean it will not actually sit on the dock in the first place (the other apps do not move aside to make room for it.) It is as if the dock does not think it is an app.

Like I said I purchased it online as it was not available in the app store. I thought that perhaps this was the reason it wouldn't sit there but others I have purchased in a similar way will sit there perfectly.

If it helps the app is YNAB (You need a budget)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay ignore me as I'm an idiot. I was trying to add the wrong thing to the dock.
