Just tried doing a software update and received an error, now i can't update...any suggestions?

So by the look of it, its a OS system update you are trying to do .. ??
Not a 3rd party one ??

Are you updated to 10.6.2 yet ??
Opps i see that in the log ..
Maybe try repair permissions 1st log out and back in then try again ...

the repair has two listings that say will not be repaired:

Warning: SUID file "Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access.app/Contents/Resources/kcproxy" has been modified and will not be repaired.
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

or try going to Mac OS X v10.6.2 Update (Combo) and doing a manual update directly from apple...
And yes, watch out for the hammer of the Gods..... I mean, the wrath of the Mods

run the update from there, then repair permissions again

ya, i just realized my question was more related to OS than just the desktop.

Yep well they will move it for you if need be ..

But do as 6string said and do the combo update from the link ...
But it looked like you have 10.6.2 as the in the log ???
Dont worry about the "cant be repaired" parts of the permissions ..
There is a list of about 200 that dont need a 2nd look @ on 's site

well it is an iMac 24" if you must know, but, i want to say thanks to all of you who helped me, this worked great.

just reinstalled the 10.6.2, and everything was fine.
