Firewire

Ok so I have now gotten the hang of connectin via firewire. How do I take the discs with tiger os from the computer I have with a tigher imac 800ghz to the same imac with no disc drive that is running 10.1.5 I have a fam pack of tiger and three more inistalls left on it. IS there anyway to accomplish this.

OK, the iMac with the non working disc drive? It's hard drive is showing up on the working one, right?

If that's the case, what you should do is insert the Tiger install disk into the working one, and reboot the working machine using the disk. (Hold down "C" on reboot, if I remember correctly) From there, the installation process will start on the working one. At some point, you are given the option of where Tiger is to installed. The other machines hard drive should show up, and you can install it from there.

So I...

Finally got both of the imac g4's I was working with up to date with tiger. Now one has a busted disc drive I think I just wore it down and it was already on it's last leg. At least it still works with dvds and some other types of discs. I was really using it mostly for printing and some movies and tv and downloads It'll be great for all of that. The one I gave my brother ended up being an amazing machine. I still feel that I somehow messed up some basic programming on mine. Although it does run fairly quickly. Anyway enough of my ocd. Thanks to everyone that helped. Mac-Forums is awesome.

OK. You have a TON of threads, mostly related to the same topic. PLEASE, we don't need a new thread for each time you have a question about one of the facets of your iMac(s). Just keep it here for now. Thanks!
