If I have a photo on my MAC and send it thru Messenges it has my return address as my (name)@icloud.com. How can I chance that reflect my phone number?

I think this will do it: Open Messages, then Preferences from the top bar of the screen. Pick the iMessage tab. At the bottom of the panel is a "Start new messages from" selector. Pick what you want. The options there are defined in that same panel in the "You can be reached for messages at: area. If your desired address isn't there, you have to set that in the System Preferences under your name (at least on Catalina, I don't remember where it is for older versions).

Just a shot in the dark here but - Open Messages -> preferences -> iMessages -> Settings tab.

Look at "you can be reached at"...

Thanks Jake and Lisa. Easy when you know what you are doing. You nailed it.
