Well,
I've always wondered what it would be like to be bald.
How do bald people stay bald? Do they shave their heads (literally)? That sounds worse than just shaving parts of your head.
But if you are bald and hate shaving your face then you would be REALLY out of luck....unless anyone has the guts to be bald with a beard.

Anyone here?

Me -- I use a straight razor to keep my head clean. I use an electric Norelco on my face every day. Using a blade on the face is why many men hate shaving. Once in awhile I visit my barber for the professional touch up. For the record, I shave my head by choice. I have what is known to be the perfect head shape for the bald look. If I were to grow hair, I would have a full head of hair.

I've always wanted a good ol' straight-razor, hot-towel barber shave, in a real barber shop — not a "stylist" shoppe — with huge, old reclining chairs with ashtrays in the handles and razor strops hanging from them, and tattered Police Gazettes in magazine stands, though the Police Gazettes aren't mandatory. A cigar might be, though.

But I'm afraid that while I'm reclined in the huge chair with a hot towel on my face, a Hudson Super Six will screech to a stop at the curb, and two guys wearing double-breasted suits, wide ties and spats will jump out, run inside the barber shop and shoot me with two Tommy guns.

So I've never done it.

You're missing a great experience. I've never been shot at. Well not in the barber chair anyway.

Btw; I want to hear more from the ladies. ;D

Daily after I shower in the morning. Gillette shaving Gel is good for sensitive skin, and taken off the face with a Mach 3.
As for my head, every 3 days in the shower with a normal disposable razor.

LOL... goobimama, that image is liable to come crashing down in a real hurry.

Like most men, I hate to shave on a daily basis. Used to use a Norelco electric, but decided to return to the simplicity of a triple blade disposable. I can go a couple of days without shaving, (and usually do in the weekends), but by the third day, my wife complains that my whiskers hurt.

How come they don't come up with a commercial dilapidating cream for men?

Declare a truce, say on Sundays, so you don't get whacked... all that 45 spitting is bad for business, you know?

I don't mind shaving... I hate having a completely clean shaven face though. Stylin' a good ol' chinstrap at the moment... I change it about once a year. I'm a pretty hair guy so shaving every 1-2 days is normal. I've been shaving since I was about 14...

Arrggghhh!

I went for 3 weeks of growth - starting to actually look a little hairy rather than the light fuzzy look!

Only bad thing was that it was looking a bit scruffy - now I was willing to stick with-it for a while - I think it could look tidier after a bit more growth..

Then I get a meeting in London! Far too scruffy for that so had to shave it off and start again!

I shave after shower because the skin becomes more soft and it is easy to shave as it doesn't hurt. I use manual shaving tool (Gillette Mach 3). :)
I shave once a 3 days.

Man, it's been awhile since i've posted but this is a fine discussion. Shaving for me depends on the mood i'm in. If i'm feeling good, i'll shave about 3 to 4 times a week. My facial hair doesn't come in very full, so it looks kinda ratty if I let it grow out. I tried a 'stache once, they're too annoying for me to keep one. As for the razor, right now I use an M3 power i think its called. You know the one with the battery in it? Anyways, I don't think the vibrating action really does anything different. However, i really wish i could find my norelco shaver. It was the kind with the lotion dispenser built in. That thing was boss. After a while I couldn't find the lotion refills, so i used 'Letric Shave instead. Worked alright. Right now i use the green Barbasol for the time being. I actually don't like shaving cream too much 'cause I learned i have some kind of allergy to propolyne glycol. But that's another story.

Shaving is not bad all for me. My only problem is that my Facial hair doesn't exactly grow in a normal manner. I used to shave about once every 1.5 weeks. My worst problem is that there are 2 spots, 1 on each cheek where my facial hair doesn't really grow

Nonetheless I decided to sport a beard so it would make me look a bit older in front of my customers (No comment there!!) and it works out perfect I get to shave even less.

Almost forgot I love my Gillette FUSION Power. It works great.

I only shave about once every two weeks with a fusion thingamobobber. It's really weird. My dad has a full beard and my brother shaves almost every day but for some reason I grow little facial hair.
I wrote almost that exact post, then realized you had already said it.

Just shaved for the first time since probably March.

I had wicked neckbeard going, and people were starting to ask what level I was in WoW and what Linux distro I used.

Not a good spot to be in.

Now I just need more blades for my Fusion. Just wish they weren't like, $20 a pack.

A bit of an exaggeration, they're closer to $15, and I had a Mach 3, but I didn't care for it much.

I think it would have been more interesting if people had posted their ages along with their shaving patterns.
At 31, I shave using a 3 blade wilkinson sword razor and king of shaves gel (normally the orange or the black one). I shave twice every time I shave, once with the grain, then reapply the gel and then shave against it. I find I cut myself less doing this. After shaving I tend to shower normally then after that I use Clarins for Men moisturising gel as its alcohol free and so doesnt dry my skin out. I tend to shave every couple of days as I can just about get into the 2nd day without looking too bad but by lunchtime/end of work I'm looking like I need a shave. Normally shave in the morning before work but have been trying to do it at night as it takes too long in the mornings. Today I haven't shaved since Thursday, and since its a Bank holiday tomorrow I won't be shaving until tomorrow night or Tuesday morning. 'Cause frankly, shaving is a right pain...
