If you have a single set of monitor, keyboard, mouse and want to share with two computers, get a KVM.
My current setup:
- 2x Viewsonic 27" monitors
- Logitech MX Keys keboard
- Logitech MX Master mouse
- JLab Microphone
- Logitech C920 webcam
My Computers:
KVM & Hub:
The video cables go directly between the Mac Studio and KVM since I bought the appropriate ones. For the MBP, I use the Hub to give you the option to unplug and walk away with the laptop.
I have my microphone and webcam plugged into the USB hub and into the KVM and then into the computers, so that it can be shared with both of them.
I used to use the Magic keyboard and trackpad, but those only connect to a single computer at a time and that wouldn't work here. If you have a set of wired keyboard and mouse, the KVM will support that. Since I didn't want to go wired, I went with the Logitech keyboard and mouse that support pairing with up 3 computers at a time and with a quick button press I can switch between the computers.
