As far as I know, this is not a "glitch". Basically, you have to do it in a quick, fluid movement. If you kind of drag your fingers slowly, it will snap back to whatever view you had previously (the "issue" you stated). I've been playing with this method and finally got it down. Just takes some practice is all. :)

Why would they change it from Leopard? It was perfect, so if this is not a glitch then I hope they change it ASAP.

I am also pretty sure it is a glitch because I have tried so many methods of doing it and it goes back.

And just wondering, how long did it take before the first update on Leopard?

Just want to know the approximate time it will take for one (a month or so?).

Also, for the temperature, I have not seen any temp differences. It actually runs very cool.

I did when I had the errant daemon running in the background. Once I killed that off, it's as cool as a cucumber as usual.

Check your system logs.

My experience with SL so far

Finally came in the mail yesterday. To my surprise I was sent a family pack but only paid for single user. I told myself I was in no rush to upgrade but holding it in my hand I went right at it. I did a minor back up as most of what is on my MacBook was already backed up. I reviewed a few more website's about problems to look out for just to be safe.

The upgrade went very smooth. It took 40ish minutes and freed up about 15, 16 GB's.

However, my MacBook did become extremely HOT during the process and after the final reboot into SL I had a Kernel Panic. Hasn't happened again but in full disclosure about 2 months ago the same thing happened 3 or 4 times. I dealt with that by getting rid of any unnecessary programs and files and doing a software update including a few updates from apple.com that I didn't get automatically.

What I like: I love the new stacks! It is great being able to open folders within stacks. And the new QuickTime Player is pretty great too!

What I don't like: The so called integration of Expose and open documents is altogether unimpressive - as is what they call "zooming with the spacebar"

What is interesting: So far there is only one website that Safari doesn't seem to like, it has been consistent since the upgrade - This One, either the page doesn't load or I get some thing like this -

kwI–íg{ úYÔ¸lO !@ ‡-Õ’åG¹Ç¯¶T]Ý3k–V‰I H:$«úÞ?qñÝûœˆ|@òU©Ýî.’̈Ȉqöy?ÿþåÇãÓ¿zåt†½®óé—ïÞ;…b©ôkõ¸TzyúÒùÛϧïß9åÍ-ç4tû‘?ôƒ¾Û-•^}(8…Îp8Ø/•®®®6¯ª›Ax^:ý\

Really its only this site.

Okay, one issue I have...yeah, Firefox (3.5.2) is crashing sometimes (and I'll bet it's the add-ons), but I don't care about that right now...what I'm wondering about is why after installing Snow Leopard that Firefox insists on opening in the BACKGROUND now. It's weird. Anybody else notice that???

No problems with Firefox 3.5.2 here (17" iMac core 2 duo) but with hardly any addons, if that helps

It probably doesn't

SL Install

I had no problems whatsoever loading SL on top of Tiger. Feeling particularly brazen, I then installed Office:Mac 2008 with no incident. I have a 17" MacBook Pro with external 1TB drive & Samsung SyncMaster 2370. Everyone plays together quite nicely.. No problem with Firefox

Snow Leopard Address Book Dead on Arrival

Installed SL last week and all went well. Tonight I tried to access Address Book. The program booted up, but it was impossible to access specific addresses. No addresses showed up in the program. I tried all kinds of things, including re-installing Address Book from SL disc - twice.

I entered new addresses and the cards showed up badly formated. The list of annoyances goes on and on.

The addresses are there. I can locate them and open the file containing them. I can access them in Mail and I can access them in the Address Book widget. But SL's Address Book might as well be dead. At this point, I have drawn no conclusions about how this might have happened. :Angry-Tongue: Of course one can live without Address Book and I have several work arounds. But . . .

So far my problems have been with Appzapper spending an age "processing" and also WD Anywhere Backup software freezing. Both resolved by force quitting. No updates from either software company yet.

My prime concern is that installing Snow leopard will delete my Windows partition (via boot camp).

Does anyone of you have any experience with this? Is it deleted or keept it as it is?

Not to rub it in your face or anything, but my Bridge CS4 works just fine. As well as the rest of the CS4 suite.

I have iPhoto ’08 with 1500 photos and use TimeMachine for backups to an external hard drive.

One of my concerns is illustrated in this Apple.com Discussion:
Topic: iPhoto Library missing after Snow Leopard upgrade [and] missing from Time Capsule!

This question/issue remains “not answered” and apparently has been sent to Apple engineering and iPhoto application department.

I have read, however, in Apple Discussions, that software update: iPhoto 8.1 is needed for iPhotos to be accessed and viewed in iPhoto '08 while running Snow Leopard. (This software update is accessed after installing Snow Leopard.)

Has anyone (with iPhoto ‘08 & photos) and upgraded to OS 10.6 been able to then use iPhoto and see all photos?

If so, can you be specific in how you did this, i.e., Did you use the standard upgrade install and did it restore all of your files and applications, including iPhoto (intact and functional)?... ( and just have TM backup copy nearby just in case).

Or did you erase and install and then use your backup to restore applications and data?

That's not a bug -- that's a new, improved feature of OSX. :)

I have Bootcamp with Windows XP & had no problems. Remember to put your new SL disc in when you boot to Windows to upgrade Bootcamp drivers to SL. When you do, you'll notice that Windows now recognizes your Mac partition (& Timemachine HD if you have one), too. I haven't tried it but you should be able to read & write in both directions now.

Toucpad issue

Hello all. I just upgraded to Snow Leopard earlier in the week and now my multiple finger functions are no longer working on the touchpad. This would be the 3 and 4 finger swiping. Anybody else experiencing this same issue? I first didn't notice it since I use a BT mouse. Thanks.

Not seen anyone else report that. I don't have one of those fancy new computers, but the first place I'd look would be System Preferences / Trackpad.

Agreed. In fact, for us non-Unibody owners, we gain three and four finger gestures with SL.
