How do I get started with setting up a new MacBook Pro without Voice Over and the related keyboard commands? I find it confusing, frustrating and counter-intuitive. I'd like to use manual controls – trackpad with finger taps, etc.

How about some particulars? Which Mac, year and model? And version of OS X?

And why are you even using the Accessibility Options? You shouldn't be turning any of them on unless you actually need them or want them.

I have found two very simple answers to getting started on setting up a new MacBook Pro. I can turn off Voice Over by using Command + F5. And to manually operate with the trackpad, I needed to press down more firmly.

Thank you to anyone who has responded. I hope this is helpful information.
