I upgraded from Sonama 14.7 to Sequoia last night and also upgraded my iPhone 12 to iOS 18. Now in App Store I can access everything except account settings. I tried signing out of my account and back in again but still tells me it can't access my account. Also in finder it only now shows 3 of my 5 devices. The iPhone app won't connect at all even though I have wifi and bluetooth connected. I haven't found much in Sequoia so far to be that fussed about it so would like to revert back to Sonama.

Here are options for such a downgrade:

Personally, I wouldn't try this at all, because my "cowardice" predominates. Good luck.

Thanks Ian. Having read throug the setup I agree with you, maybe only a last resort. I think I will try reinstalling Sequoia first. The thing that makes me smile though is Apple says it can't connect to my account and yet during installation and setup it let me upgrade my payment details. Enough said.

Before you try rolling back have you tried giving Apple tech support a call?

Maybe they have the answers to your problems or might appreciate knowing about yours.

Could well be the best way to go Patrick but I think I will try redownloading Sequoia again later tonight. I am in no way racist but the last two times I have tried phoning apple support here in the UK I have spoken to agents who are not UK born and bred and being as I am old, stupid and half deaf I hadn't understood more than about a tenth of what they were saying. Either way I will post the outcome.

Like a good idea and I certainly understand your reasons for avoiding trying to understand the dialect of tech support and I even have trouble watching some YouTube presentations from many UK people. I just can't understand many of their dialects. And my hearing aids don't seem to help the situation at all.

But regarding your pending upgrade re-installation, you might want to run Disk Utility's First Aid a couple of times just in case it can fill in any goofy stuff and patch all potholes ready for repaving for a nice smooth operating macOS install.

Assuming it's tomorrow for you now have you tried again? There were a lot of changes to things like the App Store, Passwords an iPhone Mirroring is new of course it might take a little time for things to sync.

I'm a bit puzzled about something you said,"during installation and setup it let me upgrade my payment details".
How did you do that? Is it possible that Apple is still processing that change?

Apparently the Mac fairy has visited overnight. I logged in today to find everything is working properly apart from iPhone mirroring which I have now been told only works with silicon chips but not intel.
Many thanks to everyone for your suggestions and input. All I have to do now is investigate my suspected failing Fusion Drive.

Sometimes, things just take time to settle and the explanation for this is obscure :) ;)

iPhone mirroring stopped here, I thought I had the T2 chip and that idea has left the room having checked (controller says no), so Sequoia 15.0.1 took it away.
