Sent emails showing in the "InBox"

I am using macOS Big Sur Version 11.5.2.

I have just recently started receiving emails I have sent in "InBox" as well as in the "Sent" box. I remember seeing somewhere where I could select option to receive emails sent...other than the "Sent" box, but cannot find it anywhere with Mail. Any help appreciated.

Have you by any chance got "Conversations" selected which joins up sent & received emails so that they can be read without duplication.

The Icon for this is in the Custom Toolbar and is a square with two opposing arrows and Conversations underneath it? - (the latterif you have the names selected to be shown under the icons.)

That may be what you are seeing; perhaps not but it's a starting point.
