This is what happens every time I search. There has got to be a way to exclude email. Any help appreciated (pulling my hair out!)

It might help if you told us more about what OS you're using, what hardware, and what you are using to do the search.

System Preferences?

In OSX: System Preferences, Spotlight, Mail & Messages (untick)

Yes, I am in OS X Yosemite. Happen with almost any search.
I went to System Preferences and mail is not checked. I assume it is because I am using Postbox. I am willing to change email this so frustrating.

Thank you.

Well, you could find the folder that Postbox uses to store the emails and then put that on the exclude list in Spotlight Preferences. Then it won't search there and shouldn't show the emails.

Go to System Preferences and open the Spotlight preference pane. In the search Results tab is a list of all the types of information that Spotlight recognizes and searches. Uncheck Mail & Messages. Close the preference pane and try a search.

If that does not work try the following after you locate the folder where the emails are stored.
1. Open the Spotlight preference pane in System Preferences
2. Click on the Privacy tab
3. Click the + sign and add the email folder to the privacy list.
