Not that I know of. I have my optical mouse receiver plugged into one of my USB 3 slots on my iMac but I have 4 USB 3 slots.

If you can find an older Apple full size keyboard with the two additional USB 2 slots, that would help. You can find them on eBay. Those older keyboards with the 2 slots are great but will only handle printers, mice, and low current drawing devices. No iPhones or hard drives.

Could you use a powered USB hub and connect some devices to that.
