While back I was trying to get rid of the password needed to chain settings on the computer, and I deleted some items from the keychain. Now it will not save the passwords to certain things, like it won't save my router's WEP address, or save the password to iChat so I can log on automatically. How do I fix this!?!?

Hi Loudpipe.

I guess deleted is deleted but you could always try to run Keychain Access.app's Keychain First Aid but it might not work.

Ran Keychain First Aid and it didn't turn up anything. I also tried adding a Keychain item, and it goes through and asks me what program, account, and the password I want to assign to it, then it pops up with a box that says "Unlock Keychain" asking me to enter another password; "kcproxy wants to use keychain 'X509Anchors.'" I've tried entering every password I've ever used into this box, and none seem to work. Is there a default that I don't know about that will let me add Keychain password items?

The only keychain listed on the left is "X509Anchors." From what I remember there should be a few more, like login, and maybe a system keychain, but I can't remember for sure.

Try the two troubleshooting procedures Apple suggests that I posted just above.

Let us know how it went for you. If it still doesn't work, maybe someone else has better ideas on getting this fixed.

Good luck with those. :)

EXCELLENT! Thank you very much. Worked like a charm. Yeah, I posted that at the same time you posted the one above it. I appreciate your research for me.
