Save Window (now MS Windows) size

Hello there, I have a question I use a Macbook Air, and as you know the screen is not that large, so I constantly am resizing windows, but it is so **** irritating that they do not remember the size that I made them. Is there a 3rd party app, or a setting that I am missing that makes this possible?

I can't help with remembering sizes, but I do use an app called Rectangle that allows me to size the windows very quickly with a shortcut if they don't show up how I want them.
