Does anyone know of any software which accompanies multiple sales reps and a sales manager?

I have been slowly building up my own database with MySQL and PHP but I need more and have run out of time. Thus I am probably going to scratch the whole idea and just adopt some "off the shelf" program.

I'd like a system that allows an administrative assistant to enter in new leads as they come in. The sales manager can assign the leads to a specific sales rep in Salesforce invoice management. The sales rep can print the lead details and add notes to the lead, as well as update the status of the lead. "Pending, dead or sold". Also very important is reporting the sale date.

The reason I started writing my own database is that I never found what I needed off the shelf... Any ideas?

I can probably help, but I'm not sure what you are asking for exactly. Are you asking for a "customer relationship management," or "CRM," program?

If so, have a look at:

Espo CRM

Gro CRM
grocrm (outdated link removed)

Podio
Citrix Podio

Less Annoying CRM

If you are more leaning towards a PIM or business management type of program, have a look at:

Umm, you're talking about implementing salesforce? I think salesforce already implemented salesforce.

If salesforce is too pricey for you, there're many other CRMs out there that will do what you need.

I'd be extremely interested in knowing which program that you end up going for, and what it is that attracted you to that particular one. It will help me when I next have the occasion to recommend CRM software to someone.
