This may sound like a dumb question, but here goes:

I was just fooling around and noticed that if I delete a file in the Cache/Metadata/Safari/History direrctory, the sites are still there/displayed when I go to "Show all history" in the Safari app." if I click on a site it comes up, even thought I used srm to delete it in Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/History

So where are the files that Safari displays when you "Show all history"? Can anyone tell me?

I can't find a history list anywhere, but I'm probably not looking the right place.

The history is located here:

Macintosh HD/Users/your user name/Library/Safari/History.db

Two things you should know: Your user library file is hidden by default and must be unhidden before you can find that file. And when you do find the "History.db" file you will be unable to open it or delete it as it is locked by the system. Older versions of Safari made this much easier to do, however, the latest versions of Safari are locked for security reasons.

Get busy visiting "good history" websites to push the "bad history" out of the .db ;)
