Hi guys,

Newbie here with a question.

I use my external usb hard drive to store all my music and hence its my 'itunes folder' which obviously works fine when I'm using my own powerbook however when at work (where we can't install itunes) or at a friends is there anyway to actually run itunes (or another jukebox) direct from my portable drive so I could play my tracks on a second/third computer with ease?

Thanks in advance for any help.

If they are Macs yes, just copy the iTunes application to the drive and you can run it. Only thing is that any settings you set will be stored on the computer not the drive. There are "portable" applications (google portable VLC) that will run off an external drive the way you want.
