rMBP's volume automatically increases

The volume on my rMBP 2014 increases automatically randomly and frequently when I plug in my earphones. It is very annoying and this problem does not happen when the headphone is not plugged in. Does anyone know what is causing this?

When you say the volume... is it the volume in the earphones that rises, or is it switching back to the MacBook's speakers?

If it's the volume in the earphones, I would double-check with a different pair of earphones. The ones you are using may be defective.
