I use screen sharing to use a Mac G5. Need to reset the Pram using terminal.

However, when I enter command in terminal:

sudo nvram -c

G5 Terminal does not like the -c.

How do I do this?

Using screen sharing I can not use the keyboard.

Thanks

Maybe it will work if you set up and use the "Keyboard Viewer" on the G5 Mac? Then enter Terminal and use it to do what you want.

If you are using screen sharing you have no keyboard option once the screen sharing option is closed.

You need to use terminal to reset the PRAM. Terminal 1.5 does not recognize the command "sudo nvram -c".

It does not like the "c" parameter. I know there is a way to do this, just can't remember how.

You're right. With screen sharing, you don't have access to a way to enter the correct keys. Do you have physical access to the G5 at all? If so, you can attach a keyboard and still execute the keystrokes. You don't need to be able to see the screen at all. In fact, nothing that appears on the screen during that process would help.

Attach any wired keyboard you have and power up the machine. As soon as you hear the boot chime hold all four keys simultaneously. Hold those keys down until you hear the beep at least three times.

I ordered a used Studio Display from www.usedmac.com. I have had other issues where screen sharing is limited. It is too bad that screen sharing is so limited. Hopefully, my G5, wonderful Mac, will never die. I still use a financial application on it. Thanks
