Recurrent Kernel Panics on 2007 Macbook Pro

I've been having a horrible time with kernel panics during the past couple of weeks.
Booting is touch and go-- sometimes it works, sometimes doesn't.
The problem occurred after the computer started to freeze; the screen will flash black, the cursor will still move, but nothing is clickable. After shutting down and trying to restart, kernel panic appears and continues reappearing after each restart attempt.

When I am able to boot, I get the following error report:
Interval Since Last Panic Report: 95031 sec
Panics Since Last Report: 8

I've tried going into single user mode and using fsck -fy, and I've reset the PRAM. Fsck -fy helped at first, but a day later, I'm still having the problem.
Software is up-to-date.
It's a 15-inch 2.4/2.2GHz (early-mid 2007) Macbook Pro.

Anybody know what might be going on? I'm a college student and not having a reliable computer is SUPER frustrating. I really, really appreciate all help!

Sounds like one of the macs with the bad run of NVIDIA cards. I recommend contacting Apple Support and they might be as nice as to replace it for you free of charge. I have a friend who had a very similar issue and I think Apple Support is the best way to go with this one. There's not much we can do for you here other than to tell you to reinstall and let us know if you are still having the problem. If so then we would tell you to call Apple. Even if Apple would charge you for repair, it's a lot cheaper than getting a whole new system. (oh, and if they replace your Macbook they MIGHT even give you a new version -- happened to my friend).
