I just got a new MacBook Pro. As I was migrating my data from my old G4, I got a message that the hard drive was broken, and the G4 would subsequently not start. I wiped the HD and reinstalled 10.2. But the OS is so old, it won't do much 9 (i.e. download and install flash 9....my daughter wants to play webkinz). Can anyone help me get back to 10.4.? I tried downloading updates from apple, but nothing will open (decompress) after downloading.

Going from OS 10.2 to 10.4 is not free! You need to purchase the 10.4 install disk(s).

How fast is the G4 - Panther may do the trick. And remember the MBP is Intel, so Intel Tiger is different to PPC (G4) Tiger, but this disc will do both;
as long as the G4 can read DVDs

Where can I get install Tiger discs?

Went to the Apple Store and searched for Tiger, OSX 10.4. The only results I got back were for Snow Leopard, 10.6. Searching downloads, I get the upgrades, but not the install. Any suggestions? Anyone want to sell an old Tiger they don't use any more?

You'll struggle to find one going cheaply, they still sell well on Ebay, because demand is high for non-intel only OS discs. Expect to pay $50 minimum I reckon.
Apple store will only sell, or list the latest available OS, so Snow Leopard as you found.
