Hey peeps,
My son has the late 2009 Macbook MC240*/A with 2GB ram, and I just updated my quad-core i7 Mini to 16GB. Can I put the 2x2GB from the mini in my son's Macbook? From what I can tell, it looks compatible; I know the Macbook won't take full advantage of the ram speed. It would just be a convenient upgrade if it's kosher.
Macbook ram: 2 GB (two 1 GB) 667 MHz PC2-5300
Mini ram: 4 GB (2 × 2 GB) 1600 MHz PC3-12800
Thanks in advance.

PC2 ram is DDR2 and PC3 is DDR3. They handle data differently and PC3 is faster. They are not compatible. The notches on the ram should be different.
