What is the name of the program that allows me to open and edit Microsoft word documents? I'm sure I have seen it mentioned on here before...neo or something.

Thanks

Sorry, couldn't resist.
You are thinking of NeoOffice or OpenOffice. Either one will do that for you

Yes, I recommend it all the way, it saved me clos to a Gig of HD space. I know the fine folks of M-F will probably say the same :D

Just don't forget to go to the office folder in applications

Then select Remove Office icon, so that it can be completely removed from your system.

Cheers

does it take a long time to download neooffice. i just clicked on the link to download it, and it says it will take about six hours. I have high speed internet and am just wondering if that is normal time for this.

download speed depends on ur connection speed, i don't think so anyone can answer the qn if it takes a long time to download the program.

since you need it, i guess u just have to wait patiently for the d/l to be complete

i wasn't asking for a specific answer, i was just asking from experience for people who have downloaded it, how long it took for them. that's all.

Time to download it can vary depending on how many are trying to download it at the same time. They only have so much bandwidth. When I run into those several hour times, I just cancel and try it again later or try from a different mirror if available.
