(i left out some details as how to do some of this stuff, reply if you need more detail.)

give both machines an IP address,
share your windows directories.
finder > go > Connect to Server and mount the directories onto your ibook.
copy as needed and then disconnect by moving the little mount icon on your desktop to the trash.
