Can I run an older version of pro tools (pro tools 7 on an Mbox) on a 2009 A1224 imac?
Thanks!

Thanks.
So the imac is running on OS X el capitan, which, from what I gather is 10.11. The pro tools version I have is actually 6.9 LE. From what I've learned this will not work on operating systems past 10.3.8.
Unless I'm missing something, which is entirely possible?

You've come to the correct conclusion. :)

Yes, ProTools versions tend to work for limited versions of OS X. They are very good at making sure you can use their app for just a couple of upgrades before you have to pay for their next version which will be costly and will guarantee a steady income stream for them. I get why because they are doing the work to keep it compatible but it gets expensive.

At work the current version, which I believe is ProTools 11, keeps us stuck on Mavericks until our music director decides to pay for an upgrade or get on a monthly plan.

Patrick's kind link is all Windows versions.

Really…??? It sure seems to list Mac OS options. But the question has been answered so no biggie…
