Hi Chip.. - just for clarification, your post is in the Mac OS X forum but you talk about the iPad? Are you referring to that device and iOS?

If so, please provide the iPad model and iOS installed - for starters, you might want to try the steps in sequence quoted below, if not already done. Let us know if the maneuver(s) help - good luck. Dave :)

When an app (or several) are misbehaving, I usually go through the following steps:

1. Force Close - open the multi-tasking bar (double tap the 'home buttom' or use multi-gesturing and swipe up):
a. iOS 6.x - press & hold an app until all begin to 'jiggle'; find the offending app(s) and press the 'red circle w/ minus sign' - return to the home screen & try again.
b. iOS 7.x - find the offending app - then press and drag to the top of the screen - return to the home screen & try again.

2. Restart - press & hold the 'Sleep/Awake' (a.k.a. power) button until a red slider appears (may take a few seconds) - move the slider to turn off the iPad; then press & hold the same button until the Apple logo appears - wait for a restart.

3. Reset - press & hold the 'Power' and 'Home' buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears - this may take a longer time, so have patience; the iPad will 're-boot' - NOTE that none of these maneuvers will alter your apps, files, or settings.

Thanks very much for the reply. I'm sorry I put this in the wrong category.

I followed your instructions, including a reset but the problem remains.

I have a 3rd generation iPad, with iOS 7.1.2.

Hi again - sorry the 'Reset' did not work - often corrects the majority of issues.

Next, you might want to logout of your Apple account and then log back in - also let us know if this is a recent or new problem and whether you're having issues w/ your account. Lastly, just to bring up another potential problem, i.e. multiple Apple IDs w/ different countries - are you in the USA w/ just the one account?

If not a member of the iPad Forums, you might want to join; over 300K members w/ a LOT of experienced mods & members who might help - I'm 'giradman' there - Dave :)
