Problem with Edimax usb modem and OS X 10.10.5 (Yosemite)

Hey all,

I had a problem in my WiFi connection in my MB pro Early 2011 so I had to buy a USB wifi module and I bought EDimax EW-7718Un
like this one:

The problem is that when I plug it, it starts to blink but does not start any wireless utility that I downloaded, I tried many versions but all crash. Any program it just opens and shuts immediately and the USB continues to blink.
My OS X Version is 10.10.5 Yosemite.

Fit a genuine Airport/Bluetooth Card. Dongles are a waste of money as you have found out. Also check your router is performing as it should"-
