Yes...but you're in England.

What is it about U.S. offers on Amazon (and just about every other U.S. company online) not being available in other countries is hard to understand?

... but I've never heard of this manufacturer. And I have severe doubts about 10Gbps on USB-3.

You're in Canada, Patrick. It's almost certain that that Amazon deal is only for folks in the U.S. There is nothing that I can do about that.

I would say you are quite correct on this particular deal that it's for US Prime numbers only, but Amazon's Prime day deals often apply to Canada as well except for the dollar exchange amounts differ, and more for Canadian members.

Anyway, I don't currently need any extra storage space but thanks for the alert.

I believe you use some sort of Virtualization along with several multiple OS hacks so God only knows what results you're going to see when you connect to servers in other countries. 😉

I agree with your comments about the product. Some of the user comments are quite interesting especially the one with several photos attached about the company and the product.

It seems the product only works in certain situations if I understood what they were saying correctly.
But maybe that depends on the device and the OS they were using. 😉

Agreed I am in the UK, but this was Amazon USA, i.e. via the link you provided, not the UK site.

It appears to me that Amazon's Web site knows when you are accessing their U.S. site from other countries.

In any case, this has come up on this site several times before. In general, online deals from companies in the U.S. don't apply to folks in other countries. (Which makes sense. There are matters of shipping, import/export duties, etc. involved.) I'd say that unless a U.S. company specifically says that a particular diesl applies to folks in other countries...you should assume that it does not.

,,,I've never heard of this manufacturer. And I have severe doubts about 10Gbps on USB-3.
.

10Gbps is the rated speed for USB 3.1. The SK hynix Tube T31 SSD is a USB 3.2 device. Macs don't support USB 3.2; a USB 3.2 device attached to a Macintosh will run at USB 3.1 (10Gbps) speeds.
Modern Macs support USB 3.1 via their Thunderbolt ports. Real world speed will likely be somewhat less, but otherwise there is no reason to be skeptical.

Thunderbolt 3/4 = 40Gbps
USB 4 = 40Gbps
USB 3.2 = 20Gbps (Not supported by any Macintosh. A USB 3.2 device connected to a Macintosh will perform as a USB 3.1 device.)
USB 3.1 = 10Gbps
USB 3.0 = 5Gbps

SK Hynix is a South Korean company that has variously been known as Samsung and Hyundai. Due to mergers of several semiconductor businesses, SK Hynix is simply a new name for an older more familiar company. It is one of the world's largest makers of semiconductors. They make memory for a bunch of big name computer companies. Their SSD's have been very highly rated. See:

SK Hynix - Wikipedia

Oh, and this thread is mostly moot at this point. The Prime Day deal that I pointed out is over.

Several of my old map computers and maybe even pre-PPC models came with apple installed Hynix memory modules if I recall correctly.
I didn't realise it was probably the same company, so yes, and old well respected computer related company and Apple supported. And yes that could be due to their lower cost that Hynix offered they no doubt offered to Apple.

my main OS is Mavericks, where I use Chromium Legacy to access all websites except those streaming DRM video - so no, I'm not using virtualisation here, nor hacks!!!

the offer I posted above was from the Amazon UK site, so no 'God only knows' is in effect!!!!!!!!!!!.
