Preview.app, but no preview function

My apologies to all who posted on this post and my other post about resizing images, especialy RadDave, Cradom, Chas_M, Pigoo3, Chsag, Pm-r, Mighty Gem, and oneironaut. I have been very busy trying to work two post and trying to figure a way to resize 10 image so I could add it to my first ad on crags list and with the house fire and the dog dying, made me forget about clicking on the face...Okay, the last two are not true. But i've sold the car so here goes:
This made sound silly, but how does the clicking on the face work? Also, how long do we have to click on the face before it times out? Is the face straight to begin with and changes to a smiley face once clicked?
If not, how do we know if our click went through? I did click on the last two or so posts and they show a smiley face but I'm not sure if anything happened.

Concerning the reputation issue, see the screen capture below - I clicked on the 'face icon' in the right upper corner of your post which opens the dialog box shown - if you approve then leave the button as is - you can leave an optional comment - finally hit the 'Add to Reputation' - but this is completely up to you depending on whether you feel helped by a poster(s). Thanks RadDave for that info. I am using it now. But they tell me once I click on someone, In have to spread it around, but there are mainly you and a few others who has helped me on this so hard to spread it around.
Regarding pm-r's # 13 post. The link shows an Edit icon, but does not show the toolbox icon. I do see the toolbox icon now, but don't see any Edit icon when using Preview. There is no Edit icon in the 'customize toolbar' either. Are these icons, like the crop arrow, dependent on the function you are undertaking in Preview?

It seems that quite a few things in Yosemite and Preview.app got changed and/or moved around as far as any Editing options go.

If nothing else, try using the Preview.app Help menu. It may have what you need.

Concerning 'spread your reputation around', yep happens to me all of the time - I'm assuming that this is simply built-into the reputation feature on this forum's software - one of the mods would have to explain the details.

Let us know if Pm-r's links helped you with the other questions? Again, posting screenshots of your screen might really help w/ some of these 'icon' questions. Dave
