I have an image open in preview -- I want to only use part of the image before saving it -- is there any way to 'white' out or use any of the editing tools to only 'white' out or make invisible some of the images on the paper before printing? Not sure how if it can be done; never done this before

Hello - this is very simple to do in Preview - let me explain and illustrate w/ an image of my driveway - first, if you want to preserve your original image, then make a copy or duplicate! Second, open the image in the app and simply press the trackpad or mouse for the crosshair icon and outlined the area of interest (see my first image below) - next, open the 'Toolbox' which brings up the lower menu bar, and click on 'Crop' which will then produce the image shown in the second pic below; finally, select your 'Print' options (third pic) - let us know if this works for you. Dave :)

There are extensive photo editing tools in the "Photos" app. It's not Preview, but you might try there.
