Hey guys,
I've been pondering this for some time now. I have a MacBook Pro right now, the old 2.2GHz model. But I really do miss the power and upgradeability of a desktop. I am looking to get deeper into music production as well as graphic design, web design, video editing, etc.
My question to you guys is namely concerning the Music Production area. Will I have trouble with VST plugins for the PowerPC platform in terms of compatibility? I know it's becoming a dead technology and I'd hate to invest in something like this knowing I'll only have a very limited run before I am having to resort to primarily using my laptop, which can't really handle that much graphics intensive work due to its 128MB video card.
If I can do music production without having to worry about compatibility with VST Plugins then that'll be fine and I'd gladly invest in this purchase. But I am just not 100% sure it'll be that easy.
So please if you can help me research my idea more as I really am looking for a desktop Mac to handle the more intensive tasks previously mentioned.
Thanks!
