1.67GHZ 15" PowerBook G4 Widescreen "The Great Last PowerBook"/20" iMac Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 256VRAM
Alright I have a serious problem with my Powerbook G4. I used it just fine this morning with no errors. Shut it down and bring it work and now after the screen that shows the progress bar with OS X starting up it will sow my desktop but keep loading the finder. The dock will never appear and my icons on screen. Right now I am in applejack repairing permissions and the message "/tmp directory does not exist", any ideas that this means?

What happens when you try and boot into single user mode. Restart the system and press command s.
