Post Your SMC Fan Control Settings MBP

I am just curious what RPM setting people have set as their default low speed and their avg. CPU temp (C) in SMCFANCONTROL, just want to make sure i put the correct settings.

I just leave mine on the default and use it just for temperature monitoring. Right now its sitting on 2000rpm and the temp is hanging around 55ºC

I don't have smcFan but I did on my old MacBook Pro and I usually left it on default.

A MacBook Pro will only heat up if you're playing a video, a game, etc. and that is normal. When you're using it normally, however, the temperature will be okay.

I don't recommend using smcFan as it broke my right fan on the MacBook Pro. Whenever I played a game, it just raised the fans' RPM too much, which eventually broke it.

You can but i wouldnt recommend it. Remember thats 4000rpm ALL THE TIME

I just activated mine and with web browsing, iPhoto, PS5 open my fans are sitting on 2003rpm so that being normal. 4000rpm will over time do some damage to your machine. Be it your fans *cack* out quicker or something else.

I only use smcFanControl if i start to get into some heavy CPU usage. Apart from that i dont have it on what so ever. Better not to try and fix something that isnt broken If you get my drift.

My base RPM is raised just slightly to 1,500RPM. My lower threshold is 47 celsius and my upper is 74.

My fans are almost always blasting it seems. This laptop runs plain hot for no reason. I'm sitting in the library browsing the web and collecting data for a PowerPoint and my CPU is still running at 64 degrees with the fans cranking at 6200RPM. Final Cut and Photoshop are open in the background, but I'm not using them.
