oh...how do u add the photo??

Edit your above post and look for the paper-clip icon this will add a thumbnail of the image as can be seen in the Attached Images below.

If you want the full-size image to be shown then choose the picture looking icon (kind of like a yellow box with a mountain looking scene in it) and this will allow you to add a link to an image you have hosted elsewhere.

How do you put custom folders on the stacks portion of the dock? Whenever I put anything there, regardless of the icon, it reverts to the system standard folder icon...

To Mike Pug: how to customise the folder in front of your stacks

Hi

Open your stacks folder
Create a new folder inside it and call it 'a' (without the quote marks)
Customise the look of it as you choose
Choose 'sort by name'

Because your folder is named 'a' it will always be at the front in your dock - see pic of mine = 1st one is 'dock apps'; 2nd one is 'downloads' and 3rd one is 'work'

I'm wondering what these apps are? (left image)

This is my dock. (right image)

EDIT: OK, just found out that the bottom three in the left image is the three iWork 08 apps.

Press Apple + Shift + 4 + Spacebar and your pointer will turn into a camera. Put the camera over the dock and it will light up blue, then click and you will have a picture of your dock on the desktop.

... or, under the text box in advanced reply there's a button that says "manage attachments", click it and a browser will appear where you can select that snapshot you just took. It should be in your desktop named "Picture 1" or something like that. :p
