It's fairly simple! =) Go to: Macintosh HD > System > Library > Core Services. Now right click on Dock.app (it might not have the .app extension, depending on your settings) and go "Show Package Contents".
Now go into Contents > Resources.

Now your Desktop, make a folder called "Dock Backup". Drag it into the Resouces folder. A window will come up asking you to authenticate. Click authenticate and type in your password.

Move the following files (located in the Resources folder) into the Dock Backup folder:
scurve-xl.png
scurve-l.backup.png
scurve-l.png
scurve-m.backup.png
scurve-m.png
scurve-sm.backup.png
scurve-sm.png
scurve-xl.backup.png

Now open Terminal (it's not that dangerous!) and type:
killall Dock

Press enter. All this does is restart your dock, and it should be all shiny, exactly like a mirror! =)

Alternatively, you could delete the files but it's best to keep them there just in case you want to change your dock again later.
If you don't want to go near terminal, just log out and back in again! =)

I followed ur instructions, when in resources I couldnt find the files u posted for me to move them in the dock backup folder that i created! I have Tiger

Glad to see my thread is still going. Not much point in me posting my new Leopard dock as it's the same as my Tiger dock (give or take).

Hmmmm.... I recognize a fair bit of the apps in those docks, but some of them I have no idea what they are. Unless you guys change your icons.

I bet just the CS3 apps running there take up 90% of your CPU. Running just Photoshop on my Powerbook burns 90% easy. Geez.

My dock holds 18 apps at most, with maybe 3 running at once on average.

i tried it and didnt like it, i did backup my stuff. once i replace it and log back in its still mirrored???
