Wrong. Enabling an open firmware password prevents you from swapping the hard drive and booting the computer. You can't do target mode or boot from external either.

Ohh yeahhh, like we all do that! I don't know of a single person who actually uses fp to REALLY block a thief. I like security, and even I don't use it! And you actually can bypass fp by switching to a lower/higher + resetting pram after restarting. Not sure if it works on '11 models...been reading problems with it.

You could spray paint it, that would pretty much pervent it for being sold if stolen. If you did choose to spray paint use something good like IRONLAX its a professional graffiti paint and it will never come off. But the best thing to do like the others said is too not put your notebook in a situation that it can get stolen in the frist place.

****, That really sucks... If its getting stolen from the same area I say get one to use as bait and wait with a gun!!!!! That would at least be one thief down!!!!
