Phishing pop up?

The last few days I have been getting a page popping up. It looks like an official Apple site, but I don't think so. It gives me a SYSTEM WARNING, saying that I am infected with 3 viruses (2 malware and 1 phishing). On top of this page, I get a smaller popup window that says IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED trojan virus "e.tre456.worm.osx"

I just exit out of Safari and restart it and the page goes away. When I run Malwarebytes, it says I am clean.

Do I need to do anything else?

Depending on what version of OS X/macOS you are running, you will want to look for a content blocker, like uBlock Origin, AdGuard AdBlock, or Ghostery. They have websites and usually have a download that will work with whichever browser you are using.

Thanks for the reply, ferrarr. I am running OSX 10.13.6 and Safari 13.0. I have been meaning to install Ghostery for awhile, just haven't gotten around to it yet. Probably a good time now.

If you only use Safari, you can get Gjstery through the Extensions tap in Safari > Preferences more Extensions.
