PDFs In A Browser

My health book for school has an online edition that I want to access from time to time. The problem is, it requires a PDF to be viewed in your browser so it can read all the chapter files from the server rather than loading the whole book at once. This doesn't work, because OS X downloads the file and opens it, thus making the accessing the server impossible from the document. Anyone know of any third party programs to view PDFs in your browser?
