passwords

I've been trying unsuccessfuly to add a password to my mail account. I want it so the application does not open until you type in the password. is this possible? I tried with keychains and it didn't seem to work. I use microsoft entourage for my mail. I do have confidential stuff in my emails and there are times when someone else can use my computer, in which case I do not want them to be able to open my mail. thanks.
