Hello,
I've been cracking my head trying to figure this one out. I purchased an IMAC with Leopard OS installed about a year ago. I partitioned the HD and installed Tiger to run the music software, Pro Tools. Everything has been well for the year but I now want to make a 3rd partition. I go to disk utilities and go through the partition process with no luck:
I tried to partition through the Leopard OS and it says:
Partition Failed
Partition failed with the error: Filesystem verify or repair failed.
I went to the First Aid tab, clicked the 'repair disk permissions' and 'verify disk permissions' tabs and everything was repaired but still no luck. Then...
I tried to partition through the Tiger OS and it says:
This disk contains the start up volume and can't be partitioned.
I'm out of ideas. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
