parallel Destop, stop!

Hi guys.

I jst bought macbook white that has leopard and windows 7 installed. I dont realy need the windows side at the moment but it keesp popping up at random using the parallel destop. Im new to macs, can someone tell me how to stop this Please?

Welcome to the forum. If u have just bought it and it has windows 7 then u have a used unit. Put in the install disk that came with it - u did get the disk didn't u? - and do a fresh install of the OS. Gets rid of all previous owners data etc.

As suggested a wipe and fresh install would be the best way to get started.
However if you don't want to go down that road the reason parallels is starting is because certain file types are associated with programs within it, most commonly these are Office files.
Pretty sure you can turn off this functionality from within parallels (not from within Windows but the parallels itself).
