I've got a new MacBook Air. I'm a PC guy and when I want to know the size of a folder, file or drive I can just click Properties and get that info. I've found that with OS X I have to use Finder for the folder or file name to "Get Info". I'd like to be able to find out the cumulative size of all my docs in Pages, Keynote and Numbers so I know what Cloud storage size I need. Is there an easier way to do this than using Finder for each Folder and File?

Highlight all the files, then hold down Option, Command, and hit i

This will do a combined 'get info'

Using Finder and clicking all 242 files then Option Command i does work. Not as simple as a PC though. Thanks (I do like the MacBook better though)

To be honest, once you get keyboard shortcuts down you'll probably find that they're faster to use.

However, you can right click, then hold down option and 'Get Info will change to 'Show Inspector'.. which is the same as the cmd-opt-i (I never do it this way, so I had to figure it out again)

Are you selecting them by clicking or shift clicking one item at a time. That would really slow things down. You can select batches of files by dragging the mouse/trackpad pointer over the files.

Or you can click on the top one in the list, scroll to the bottom, hold Shift and click on the last one and everything in between gets highlighted, then Opt-CMD-I will work on that bunch.

..depending on whether you use Icon View or List View.

Or you could organize the files you regularly want to "Inspect" into a folder (or a few folders) and just do a regular Get Info on the folder.

Not sure quite what you want.

If you just want to know the size of any folder, you can right-click and 'get info' to get stuff like you would get in Windows under Properties.

If you have a folder open, you can right-click any of the white space and 'get info' for the same info.
