OS 8.5 installation

ive probably done this a million times, but i get this funky error now. it says it cant read Installation Tome. The file is there (Mac OS 8.5 disc/Software Installers/System Software/MacOS 8.5) .. its a major part of the system installation, so i cant just skip it.. anybody know how to get around this, or solve this? its for an Apple 7200 with 24mb

Is it the original disc? If it is, maybe its a problem with your CD drive.

ya, its the original disc and its a 24x CDrom, i dont see how it could be too slow.. its not that old. has a 1GB HD

hmmmm...

The disc is in good condition? The only things I can think of is to clean the disc thoroughly, or try making a copy of the disc and using that.
