I just downloaded and ran Onyx maintenance on my old iMac. I walked away from the computer and when it was done with the maintenance, it restarted. I didn’t see a report or summary or anthing re the maintenance task that was run. Was I supposed to?
From reading posts I realize some posters don’t believe this type software is necessary. I actually purchased Clean My Mac on the App Store last week erroneously thinking it qualified for family sharing to also use on my wife’s MacBook but it didn’t. I disputed the purchase with Apple and they refunded my $37.00. Thanks in advance.

No, Onyx doesn't offer a summary. If you want, you can disable the "automatic restart", in Onyx Preferences. But it does need to restart after the cleaning.

Thanks.
If Onyx finds problems would there be some sort of error report in that case?

Thanks.

Yes. The first thing OnyX does is do a First Aid check on your hard drive or SSD. If it finds any problems there, it will warn you and stop the checks.
