It's interesting... IMO there is no need to try to include everyone. While I am not of the Jewish faith, I take no offense whatsoever when a Jewish friend wishes me Happy Hanukkah. Quite the opposite really, I am happy that they have wished me Happy Hanukkah, kind of gesture of friendship. MichaelStumpf had a great post. We all celebrate DIFFERENT things, and it's great to learn of other cultures/faiths celebration. I see no need to strip away the names of Cultural or faith-based holidays, and resort to lives of: "happy Feb. Bill" "Happy Cold-Weather Mike", "happy Spring-Time Beth". I'll wish you a Merry Chistmas, and maybe you'll wish me Happy Ramadan. It's all good.

VERY good post. Agreed totally.

I think it's simply the swing of the pendulum.

A few years ago, everyone was getting tangled in their own shoelaces to talk politically correct. Now some people are questioning this and want talk to become more precise and more natural.

Does this warrant negative rep? Hardly. It's one thing to be tired of a social movement, it's quite another to jab people for being part of what this person wants to see change.

Guess I'll take it back to the thread ;>)
I hardly have rep and I don't have any multiple reps for any one post. As I said before, my very first rep was a neg but at that time I didn't even know what a rep was much less how check it. So guess my ignorance was in my favor that time! The bad rep was for posting my first question twice (didn't think it had posted!). Well, at least now I know better.
