OK, is there a "hash" key on a Mac keyboard?

I have a small, bluetooth keyboard exactly like this one ....

It is perfect for my needs except for one small detail.
I can't find the "hash" key.
To save any confusion, I mean the symbol that looks like a tiny, tiny tic-tac-toe screen and is usually opposite the * icon on a mobile phone keypad.
Is there a key combination that produces it?

Oh, and I should add that on my keyboard the lettering on the keys stands out a lot better than in the image.

Shift +3 will give it to you

We seem to have a USA / UK keyboard conflict here, lol
Shift + 3 gives me the £ sign for UK currency
